Radio

WXRT's Local Anesthetic
Every Sunday evening, Richard Milne brings you the finest local music Chicago has to offer. See the site for a peek at upcoming shows and guests. Congratulations to Richard on Local Anesthetic's 15th anniversary (April 2006).
UIC Radio's Hidden Treasures Of Rock N' Roll
John Rose is your host for "some of the best music you've never heard". Listen Mondays 12-4PM CST.
Nightsounds on WUIS
On Sundays from 8-10PM is where you'll hear some fine music played by the host, Dave Leonatti. The show originates from the University of Illinois at Springfield, but they stream online in several different formats so you can listen no matter where you live.

Press

Performing Songwriter Magazine
Kind of self explanatory isn't it? This magazine gets you, for lack of a better phrase, "behind the music". Even if you are not a performer or songwriter yourself, it's a good read. WAITING ROOM is a Top 12 DIY pick in the July/August 2006 issue.

Other Musicians

Peter Himmelman
Peter Himmelman is one of Dave's favorite songwriters and a brilliant live performer. Check him out now and you'll thank us later.
Clayhead Records
Here you'll find the skinny on some of Dave's friends. Discover the rootsrocktwangslop of singer-songwriter Dave Ramont and delve into the band called Dick Smith, purveyors of "strange country for a strange country."
Trampoline Records
A little label started by Rami Jaffee of the Wallflowers, Marc 'Doc' Dauer of the Jukebox Junkies, and Pete Yorn. Good people who like good music.
Craig Northey
Craig used to be in a fantastic band called Odds, but sadly they split a few years back. He's still bringing the good stuff with his solo work and what seems like a dozen side projects. Among those are Stripper's Union, with Rob Baker of The Tragically Hip, and Northey/Valenzuela with Jesse Valenzuela of The Gin Blossoms.

Live Music

Uncommon Ground
Dave's second home. He and Chris Walke can frequently be found in the music room trying out new songs and old favorites. It's Chicago's finest coffeehouse, so of course they've got great coffee, but they also sport a menu chock full of tasty dishes. For those of you who prefer something stronger than coffee... they have a full bar too. You can't go wrong "down at the Ground." They also have a streaming radio station on their site. A song from one of Dave's many live performances is frequently on the playlist.
Schubas
An intimate music room with great sound that plays host to many of your favorite artists. They've also got a top notch bar and if you need something to soak up all that liquor, you can get some dynamite food at their Harmony Grill.
The Old Town School Of Folk Music
In addition to the great school, where they can teach you almost any instrument, The OTSoFM is also home to another excellent place to see live music - the American Airlines Concert Hall. Dave & Chris had a great experience playing there (even though Chris was deathly ill at the time).

Record Stores

CD Baby
An awesome online source for indie music.
Kiss The Sky
Located in Batavia, IL and big supporters of local music. What a record store used to be. What a record store SHOULD be!

Creative Friends

Design Fireside
Graphic designer Susan Fireside did the wonderful design for Sometimes Nothing and is back on board to work her magic on Waiting Room. She also does websites, logos, product packaging, brochures, etc. If you need a great designer for anything, check out her work. And tell her Dave Sills sent ya!
Sam Miller Photography
I used to work with Sam a few years ago. Back then, all I really knew about him was that he loved the music of Pearl Jam. It wasn't until I left that job that I found out Sam is also a very gifted photographer, with a keen eye for composition. The cover of WAITING ROOM is but one example of his fine work.

Gear

Gibson Guitars
Dave plays Gibson acoustic guitars because he likes the way they sound, not because they give him free guitars (they don't, though he surely wouldn't mind if they wanted to).
Shure
Dave used a Shure microphone (a KSM 32 if you want to get specific) to record all his vocal tracks on Waiting Room and Sometimes Nothing. At live shows, you'll find him singing into a Shure as well (SM58 or Beta58). If you see him walking around town with his iPod, he's using some Shure E2 Sound Isolating Earphones. Shure picked Dave as one of ten featured artists for 2006. Check it out in issue 20 of Shure Notes.
The Music Gallery - Highland Park, IL
Dave got his new Gibson here. They match a great selection of fine guitars with a knowledgable and honest staff. Imagine going into a guitar store where the guitars are all properly setup, in tune, and with fresh strings on them - then stop imagining because it's a reality at The Music Gallery.
